FREE swimming lessons for babies aged 3 - 6 months.
Now booking for Block ONE: Sunday 3rd February to Saturday 4th May 2019.
Our experienced and well-trained team can show you how to (re)introduce your child to the world of water. We want your little ones to be happy in, under and around water, and to establish good water safety routines for the family.
Happiness and calmness are important elements in our lessons, we want children and their grown ups to enjoy their time together in the pool. Each baby will have a parent or caregiver (aged 16 or over) in the water with them. Our teachers will guide the grown ups and baby's through the skills and activities, building baby's water confidence, encouraging movement and development. Built into the activities and the class are important water safety skills and routines. These routines and water safety messages should be part of your family's routines, for life.
Our pool is purpose built, and warm year round. The floor is flat, and we have platforms and trays for babies to lie on and to explore. The changing rooms are heated and have custom built long baby change tables for your convenience.
First Splashes FREE baby swim lessons are a continuation of our community education programme that was first established in the 1980's with Margaret giving talks to antenatal groups at North Shore Hospital, and which has continued in recent years with coffee and play group talks and small group in-water teaching sessions.
